Volunteering Roles

Volunteer Counsellor

The vast majority of our volunteers at Diverse Voices staff our support line. You do not need to be a professional counsellor to be on line. This is because the strength of our service is that it is peer to peer. Comprehensive training is provided to our peer supporters. The LGBTI Senior Community Visiting Service

Diverse Voices in one of a number of local partners who proudly deliver this program.

The Seniors Community Visiting Service matches trained volunteer visitors with LGBTI senior clients who feel alone or isolated from their community due to health, mobility or other issues.

The service supports clients to stay connected with others through having regular contact with their visitor for conversation, social connection and/or outings. It operates alongside but not in place of other in-home care and support services that clients might receive or be looking to access.
